Early voting for the 2026 primary election has started in Indiana and will continue through noon on May 4.

Eligible voters can vote early at their county election office or other satellite locations on designated days during designated hours. Hoosiers should check with their local county election office for specific early voting times and locations.

To cast a ballot, voters must bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Hoosiers can verify their registration status and learn more about the voting process by visiting IndianaVoters.com.

The League of Women Voters is again offering VOTE411.org, a one-stop-shop for election information. Voters can see who is on their ballot, learn more about the candidates, find out the types of identification that can be used to vote, and get help making a plan for voting.

Indiana’s primary election is May 5 and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales encouraged voters to cast their ballots on May 5.

“Early voting provides flexibility for those who need it, but Election Day remains a proud American tradition that I will always encourage eligible voters to participate in,” Morales said in a press release. “Every eligible Hoosier should make a plan to vote, and if you’re able, take part in the time-honored tradition of voting in person on Election Day.”
