Professional Experience :

Through hard work and dedication, Oliphant worked her way up to felony drug cases in early 2012. In the felony drug position, Oliphant represented the State of Indiana in felony drug cases before four adult criminal court divisions; she served as the prosecutor representative on the Monroe County Drug Treatment Court team, she assisted law enforcement with search warrant requests and legal questions, and she taught criminal law and investigations to the Indiana University Law Enforcement Academy.

In August 2016, Oliphant took over major felonies in Judge Marc Kellams’ court, working on a wide variety of felony cases, including thefts, operating while intoxicated, batteries, robberies, burglaries, and murders. In 2016 through 2018, Oliphant taught as an adjunct instructor at Ivy Tech Community College in criminal evidence/investigation and criminal law.
 
Political Experience :

  • Oliphant took office as Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney on January 1, 2019.

  • Prior to her election, she worked as a Deputy Prosecutor from 2009 to 2018.

  • She began her career working on misdemeanors and traffic infractions in Judge Kenneth Todd’s court.

  • In 2011 and 2012, Oliphant served on the Board of Directors of the Monroe County Bar Association (MCBA).
