"As a kid, I played baseball at Lawrence Park on Franklin Road. I went onto be a umpire and worked there for another 3 years after my baseball career ended. I loved Lawrence Lions Fish Fries and walking in the parade every July 4th.
I met my wife Cathy in February of 1991 and wed her in November the same year. Cathy has been a school teacher at Oaklandon Elementary for over 30 years. We have two kids together. Hunter who is 24 and Caleb who is 21.
I was a Lawrence Police Officer for approximately 10 Years. During that time I was a D.A.R.E. officer for 4 years. (Drug, Abuse, Resistance, Education) at several Lawrence Township Schools. I went to IU School of Toxicology and was a breathalyzer operator the majority of my career. One year I had the second most DUI arrest in the whole state of Indiana in 1999. I was Police Officer of the year in 1995 and nominated two more times for it. I left the Police department due to a shooting I was involved in. I was honorably dis-charged.
I went on to open my own business, Great Seat Co. after Police work.
I am an Eagle Scout and also was awarded the Medal of Merit from the National Association of Eagle Scouts for saving a girl's life. I am a member of the National Association of Eagle Scouts and in good standing.
I was on the Oaklandon Youth Baseball Organization board for 3 years. I was also a rec baseball coach and then went on to coach travel baseball for another 6 years. I love spending time with our youth and watching them grow."
